Fatima Aluko Of Abia Angels Wins NWFL Golden Glove Award

Abia Angels goalie Fatima Oloko has been named the NWFL Goalkeeper of the Season following her outstanding performance in 2025/26 campaign.

Oloko who joined the Aba-based club from Rivers Angels in search of regular playing time after struggling for opportunities at Port-Harcourt based team, has proven to be a masterstroke, as she established herself as one of the league’s finest goalkeepers.

The young talented shot-stopper who was recently invited to the Super Falcons of Nigeria, played a pivotal role in Abia Angels’ historic qualification for their first-ever NWFL Super Six and their 4th placed finish at the play-off.

Oloko’s consistency, commanding presence, and crucial saves throughout the season earned her the league’s top individual goalkeeping honour, capping off a remarkable turnaround in her career.

The award is a proof of her skill resilience, determination and rewards for believing in her abilities when opportunities seemed limited.
