Ginger Onwusibe Fulfils Promise To Okporoahaba, Commissions Okpuhie Market And Other Projects

The Labour Party senatorial candidate for Abia Central, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, has lauded the member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Ginger Onwusibe, for touching base with his constituents in all the wards through people-oriented projects.

Senator Nwokocha, who disclosed this at Okporoahaba Ward 10 during the official commissioning of a 30-room market shop complex and three lock-up stores at Ahia Eke Emereole Okpuhie Village, Okporoahaba Ancient Kingdom in Isiala Ngwa South LGA, built by Hon. Onwusibe, commended him for following in his footsteps and doing what he has always been known for.

He enjoined the people to see the project and others already completed and ongoing as a sign of appreciation for their support during the last elections and in keeping with the promises made to them, while appealing for their continued support for Governor Alex Otti, other elected officials, and the Labour Party.

In his remark, the member representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Honourable Ginger Onwusibe, said the event was in fulfilment of his campaign promise upon the request by the people to rebuild their market.

“This market may look small, but when it starts to grow, it will start to expand. Something must start from somewhere, and I want to thank Elder Nwaigburu, whom I crossed paths with in 2022 when we joined forces with Dr. Alex Otti. He is very dependable and never afraid to say his mind in pursuit of any issue that concerns the progress and well-being of his people.”

Honourable Onwusibe, who is also the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Financial Crimes, said the project is his second in Okporoahaba, having commissioned the renovated Okporoahaba Secondary School, while promising to install streetlights around the market.

“Like we promised too, each place we build a market, when we finish, we distribute seed capital to the women who trade in that market to enable them restock their goods and jump-start their businesses,” he said.

He, however, reminded the people of Okporoahaba that what he had done was to complement the efforts of the Governor and pledged to continue making the people happy while soliciting their continued support.

Delivering his address on the occasion, the leader of Okporoahaba Ward 10 and BoT Leader of Alex Otti Vanguard Movement for Continuity, Dr. K.O. Nwaigburu, described the project as a huge investment in the economic lives of the people, pointing out that the market, apart from providing a convenient platform for women, youths, artisans, and farmers to engage in daily economic activities, will also serve as a centre for social interaction and community integration.

“This Ahia Eke Okpuhie is a centre that connects Umuobiawalaoha of Osisioma Ngwa LGA, Umuenere of Okporoahaba, Umuhie of Isiahaba, and Umuoleke Mbutu Ukwu. Here is a melting pot for so many communities.”

In their words of appreciation, the traditional ruler of Okporoahaba Ancient Kingdom, Eze Peter Emonye, the village head, Mr. Sunday Iroulo, and the Chairlady, Mrs. Goodluck Shedrack, thanked Honourable Onwusibe and all the leaders for the gesture, promising to continue giving them their maximum support.

Also commissioned on the same day were a fully equipped Cassava and Palm processing plant in Ikem Nvosi, a mini stadium, a water project at Umuokiri all in Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A.
